Deco Pages

I’m taking part in a Deco Page swap on KCUK – there are 6 of us in each group.  We each have to make 2 pages for each person according to their required size & theme.

These are the ones I’ve finished so far – see if you can guess their themes!

I just hope the recipients like them!

One Stamp but 2 different ATCs

I decided to have a bit of a play last night & these are what I came up with using the same stamp – “Dream, Believe, Love” by Teresa Collins.

This one uses a background of Shell Pink & Juniper Adirondack Paint Dabbers.  Once dried I then stamped the stamp into the middle using Jet Black Archival Ink.  Once that was dry I then dabbed Silver Adirondack Metallic Paint Dabber around the edges to frame the image.

The next one uses Old Paper, Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy & Walnut Stain Distress Inks to make up the background.  I then stamped the stamp in the middle using Jet Black Archival Ink as before.  I then dabbed Gold Adirondack Paint Dabber around the edge, again to frame the image.

Today’s Snow

Here is a collage (done using photoshop) of the walk we went on this afternoon while it was still snowing.  At this point we’d had 3 inches of snow with a further 2-4 inches forecast overnight!

And to think I was moaning yesterday evening because we hadn’t had any snow despite the weather reports saying we’d have snow from lunchtime!

Some Birthday Cards

Here are a few Birthday Cards I’ve made for one of the groups I belong to.

This is using some gorgeous K&Co Paper from the Blue Awning range.  I used some of Tim Holtz’s Distress Inks around the edges.  The birds were stamped in Archival Ink in Sepia as were the words.  The flowers were stamped using 2 different Distress Inks (can’t remember which ones now though!).  All the stamps are from Tim Holtz’s Natures Moments set.

This is using the same paper from K&Co again & used the good ol’ Distress Inks around the edges of the card.  I then stamped the image of the lady onto some cream card using Black Staz-On Ink & blended some Distress Inks around the edges & on the image (but making sure I left the face clear).  The quote & the ribbons are all stamped in Black Staz-On.  All these stamps are from PaperArtsy (Ink & The Dog’s Eclectic Plate 6)

For this card I used Peeled Paint & Fired Brick Distress Ink Pads for the background.  I stamped the image using Black Staz-On onto some spare card & blended the background using Peeled Paint at the bottom, then Mustard Seed, then Spiced Marmalade then finally Fired Brick at the top.  I tore the edges & highlighted the edges using Walnut Stain.  I then used Glossy Accents on the leaves.  I then used my Inkessential White Opaque Pen to write Celebrate at the bottom.  The stamps were from Katyscorner.

This is a card for a special man!  Without whom, many of us probably would have a rather different style & approach to our craft work!  This was for Tim Holtz!  To be honest with you, it was rather nerve racking making a card for someone who’s so inspirational! 

I did my usual Distress Ink background (only because I really liked it & it went with what I wanted to do!) & then stamped over it using a script stamp (can’t remember who by) in Tea Dye Distress Ink (I think).  The main image of the boy I stamped in Archival Sepia & blended in some Distress Ink around the edges of the image & the Adage ticket.  I used Tim’s technique (from one of his recent 12 tags of Christmas techniques) to distress the key using Slate & Pitch Black Alcohol Inks.  The stamp is from PaperArtsy (Ink & The Dog’s School Days Plate 2).  Oh & there’s a tiny bit of Green Patina Perfect Pearl on the stamped image too!

Trina’s Timeless Treasures Challenge

I happened to come across Trina’s blog by accident & I’m pleased that I did.  She happens to have a sketch challenge with a lovely Blog Candy prize to the winner of the challenge.  As I noticed some Sarah Kay images in the prize, I just had to have a go!

So here is my entry:

I used papers from HOTP’s Classic Cardmaker’s Creative Pack.  The main image is from a Oriental themed Clear Stamps Collection I got off QVC & the stamped sentiment is one from HOTP’s clear acyrlic stamps.

Sorry about the quality of the scan.  I couldn’t get a decent image using my new camera for some reason, so I scanned it instead.  It’s just blurred slightly because of the brad!

An ATC just for Fun!

This is using my distress ink technique – I made a lot of these backgrounds!  I then stamped one of my new PaperArtsy Squiggly Mini Stamps twice & cut out various bits from one of the images.  I layered these pieces onto the main image using silicone glue.  I then used Glossy Accents on the Flower & bubbles, Crackle Accents on the Crown & Wings & lastly Matt Accents for the heart & the extra bubbles around the outside of the image.  I finished off by inserting a gold brad into the flower’s centre.

Flower Fairy ATCs

Over on another Yahoo Group I’m in, one of the members hosted a Flower Fairy Tag Book made from ATCs.  Only 8 members took part & these are my contribution to the book:

I used the same technique as I used for my distress ink challenge & then I used my new stamps from Lavinia Stamps for the main image & the quote.  I used Crystal Stickles for all of the Fairies Wings & used Rangers Liquid Pearls in White Opal for the dots on their skirts.  I will be receiving the finished Tag Book anyday now & I can’t wait to see what the other 7 artists have come up with!  I will post my tag book once I’ve received it!
